don’t forget you have to install the yds 1.33 diagnostic software and then you’ll be ready to plug in your cable and you should be able to read everything on the engine including rpm, map, oil pressure, gas mileage, and even tachometer rpm etc.. you will also get the case to hold your yds cable, easy install software, manual and yds software cd with yds 1.33 in cd format, and preconfigured wiring for the yamaha watercraft 96-0280-01. could someone tell me how to get the ys software to activate on my mc 12 yamaha?

to install your ydis engine diagnostic system, please review the following instructions:

1. unzip the archive to a location on your hard drive.
2. browse to that location from file -> open, and select the ydisinstall.zip file.
3. click open.
4. to activate, your ydis system will need to be connected to a hard drive that you can see and write to.
5. you will notice that the hdd1.txt file, which is included with your ydis, says that it will install to hdd0.
if this appears to be incorrect, please reboot, disconnect your ydis, and activate your ydis again.

although yds, with embedded diagnostics, is the best out there for engine diagnostics and monitoring your yamaha motor, you do need to be careful to actually get yds installed on your motor. with yds you need to install it first then the maint and odbii tools. the main purpose of the maint tool is to unlock the ecu, so yds can see the correct settings, then you can download a pro tune. the odbii tool is made to calibrate the tps. this tool can be downloaded from their website, but it will not work right after installation of yds.
